In June, youth from the community and the Boys and Girls Club of Oviedo visited the Seminole State College Nursing Lab in Altamonte Springs. There, they were greeted by nursing students from all levels of the program.

Students demonstrated wound care, ostomy care, tracheostomy care, nasogastric tube insertion, and IV insertions (on mannequins!) to the community youth. They were then able to explore simulation and tour the campus, even getting to tour the main lecture hall and a join in our pediatric vaccine lab!

A big thank you is extended to our partners that made this happen: Boys and Girls Club, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Oviedo that supplied the transportation, and the leadership at Seminole State College for welcoming our youth!
