Oviedo Citizens in Action was founded in the pursuit of justice, equality, and community for the people of Oviedo. These values are rooted in peaceful advocacy and inspired by faith leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Our 5th Sunday tradition is a way to continue that legacy. On months with 5 Sundays, members of OCIA attend a local church service on the 5th Sunday of the month, not just as an act of worship, but to build unity across our diverse community.

Mrs. Ida Boston selects a church within the Oviedo/Seminole County area to help maintain OCIA’s connection with the community it serves while also demonstrating that the organization remains active, engaged, and committed to supporting local residents.

On Sunday, May 31st, a contingent of OCIA members led by Mrs. Ida Boston attended worship services at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Oviedo, Florida.
