Memorial Day Remembrance

Today Oviedo Citizens In Action Inc. joined forces with Post 243 of the Oviedo’s American Legion at Boston Cemetery. OCIA and Post 243 went out to place stickers on the headstones of Veterans who are laid to rest at the cemetery. There are over sixty African American Veterans buried at the cemetery. The property was donated by Prince Butler Boston to Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for management. A few of our veterans were born between 1840 – 1888 and served their country with honor and pride.  On Saturday May 28 the American Legion Post 243 and Oviedo Citizens In Action will go out to place flags on each Veteran’s grave.
